Romulus and Remus float down the Tiber River in a basket, condemned to death by drowning but saved by their mother's quick thinking. A she-wolf discovers the infant twins and nurses them back to health, aided by a woodpecker who helps provide for their needs. The brothers grow strong under this unlikely care before humans eventually find and raise them. As adults, they set out to build a great city where they were once abandoned. Their shared dream of founding Rome becomes reality, but brotherhood cannot survive the weight of ambition and power. The twins' bond fractures as their city rises, leading them toward a devastating confrontation that will leave only one brother standing to rule the eternal city they created together.
