Phil Reardon stares at his empty bank account after getting downsized from his executive position. When he discovers an outlandish opportunity to profit from shaving whales worldwide, he jumps at the chance to rebuild his finances. Phil assembles a ragtag team of outcasts and launches a clandestine whale blubber harvesting venture. Environmental activists work to stop them while a mysterious corporate giant threatens their operation. Government agents track their illegal activities as Phil's time grows short. He faces an impossible choice between protecting himself and salvaging what remains of his professional standing. The pressure mounts as Phil discovers how much he will sacrifice for money and respect.
