Part of Swordheart
First published 2027
Angharad Shieldborn has spent centuries trapped inside a cursed sword, bound to protect whoever wields her. Armed with her two-handed warhammer, she has guarded wielder after wielder through the ages. Her current wielder, Cinder, presents an unexpected challenge. Cinder comes from a brutal cult obsessed with immortality, the kind of background that should make her Angharad's enemy. Yet beneath Cinder's steel-hard exterior lies surprising kindness and vulnerability. Angharad finds herself drawn to this complicated woman in ways she never anticipated. The cult will stop at nothing to claim Angharad's sword and steal her power. As attacks come from every direction, Angharad must use all her strength to shield both herself and Cinder from destruction. But protecting Cinder means confronting feelings that could prove more dangerous than any enemy blade.
