Somebody To Love

First published 2012

Parker Welles faces bankruptcy after her father's insider trading scandal destroys the family fortune. She drives to Gideon's Cove, Maine, with her young daughter to sell her last asset: a run-down house that needs major repairs. James Cahill, her father's former business partner, insists on helping with the renovation project. Parker resents his presence, even though she admits he's attractive and skilled with construction work. She takes a job at a local flower shop to pay her bills. The physical labor and financial pressure force Parker to examine who she really is beyond her privileged background. She begins to see James differently as they work together on the house repairs. The renovation becomes more than a business transaction when Parker realizes she's rebuilding her own life alongside the crumbling property.
