Admiral James T. Kirk stands accused by the Klingon Empire of stealing one of their starships. The Federation agrees to the Klingon extradition demands, forcing Kirk and his Enterprise crew to return to Earth for trial. Their journey home takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious alien probe appears and begins threatening the planet. The probe's overwhelming power defies all conventional responses from Starfleet. Kirk finds himself racing against time as the probe's presence puts Earth in mortal danger. To save their world, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the rest of his loyal crew must attempt something unprecedented. They journey backward through time to twentieth century Earth, hoping to unlock the secret of the alien visitor. The crew faces the challenge of operating in a primitive era while searching for answers that could prevent Earth's destruction. Their mission becomes a desperate gamble where failure means losing everything they have sworn to protect.
