Stranded

by Bracken MacLeod

First published 2016

An apocalyptic storm batters the Arctic Promise and leaves her crew sailing blind through thickening fog. Navigation and communication systems have failed. The men have no idea where they are. One by one, a mysterious illness takes hold of the crew. Only deckhand Noah Cabot remains unaffected, which makes the others distrust him even more. The captain ignores Noah's warnings about deteriorating conditions and pushes forward until the sea turns to ice around them. The ship can move no farther. The captain orders the men onto the ice to break the vessel free by hand. The fog lifts and reveals a distant shape that might be their destination. Noah must lead the few remaining healthy crew members across the frozen wasteland. They face the brutal elements, shadows from their past, and their own breaking minds in a fight for survival.
