Moe Prager drowns his guilt in alcohol after his girlfriend Pam dies tragically. A woman from his past arrives asking him to find her missing daughter. The daughter became famous online as the Lost Girl or Hollow Girl. Moe takes the case but finds no real evidence anyone has disappeared. He discovers a corpse in a Manhattan apartment. The Hollow Girl suddenly appears on video screens across the city. Family members lie to him. Washed up entertainers mislead him. Police officers ignore him. A doorman stonewalls him. Another private investigator obsesses over the case. Moe cannot tell if someone needs rescue or if the entire situation is fake. Time runs out as he tries to separate truth from deception. The real question becomes whether the Hollow Girl ever existed at all.
