Zahara Douglass remembers watching her twin sister Annica get pulled into a stranger's car in April 1994. She remembers everything about that terrible day. But when she tries to tell people what happened, nobody knows who Annica is. Her mother insists she never had another daughter. The police have no record of a missing person report. Annica has been erased from existence itself. Five years later, as December 1999 approaches and Y2K panic spreads, Zahara discovers proof that her sister was real. She hires a private investigator and starts digging into her family's buried secrets. The search leads her to two men who served with her father in Vietnam, men who seem to know more about the Douglass family than they should. Zahara realizes she and Annica are caught in a power struggle that reaches back decades. Finding her sister means confronting the truth about her family's past and the strange abilities that run in their blood. But bringing Annica back could tear apart reality and destroy everything Zahara knows.
