Part of Sigma Force, book 15
First published 2020
Climatologists in Greenland uncover a medieval ship buried beneath ice. The vessel holds Bronze Age artifacts and a clockwork gold atlas created by Muslim inventor Ismail al-Jazari. When activated, the device maps Odysseus' route from Troy and reveals a hidden path to Tartarus, the mythological underworld beneath the Mediterranean Sea. Ancient weapons lie hidden in this subterranean realm. Word spreads quickly through a region already torn by conflict between Turks and Kurds. Terrorists and tyrants race to claim these artifacts that could reshape global power. Sigma Force must reach Tartarus first. The team faces mythological horrors that Homer described in his epic poems but which prove terrifyingly real. They must navigate the gates of Hell itself to prevent these weapons from triggering worldwide catastrophe. The mission forces them into an ancient world where gods and monsters still hold sway over human fate.
