Robert Wolff stumbles upon a mysterious horn in an abandoned house. When he blows it, the instrument tears open a passage through space and time itself. Wolff steps into a universe built like a vast tower, with world stacked upon world in ascending tiers. Each level operates under different physical laws than Earth's familiar reality. The horn compels Wolff to climb higher through these layered realms. His journey leads him toward an inevitable confrontation with the architect of this tiered cosmos. But Wolff faces a troubling question as he ascends. What kind of being creates entire universes? The maker might be insane. He could be a fraud wearing a stolen identity. Perhaps he is a cosmic fugitive fleeing punishment from even greater powers. Wolff must continue climbing through the strange worlds to learn the truth. His quest will bring him face to face with forces beyond human understanding.
