Will Treaty and his apprentice Maddie receive an urgent summons to Castle Araluen. They discover that Gallica's prince has vanished, reportedly captured by the formidable Baron Joubert de Lassigny. King Duncan faces a dilemma. Sending troops to Gallica could trigger war, but the kingdom has requested assistance. The solution lies with the Ranger Corps. Will and Maddie assume false identities as traveling jongleurs, posing as father and daughter.
