Clarice Starling receives an unexpected summons at the FBI Academy. Jack Crawford, head of Behavioral Science, assigns her to interview the imprisoned Dr. Hannibal Lecter at Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. The former psychiatrist, known as Hannibal the Cannibal, possesses unusual insights into criminal minds. Crawford needs his help tracking Buffalo Bill, a serial killer whose victims appear across multiple states.
