The Trinity Game

First published 2012

Daniel Byrne works for the Vatican's Office of the Devil's Advocate, investigating miracle claims. In ten years, he has debunked 721 cases without exception. Case 722 forces him to confront his estranged uncle, Reverend Tim Trinity, a television evangelist known for financial scams. Trinity has begun speaking in tongues and making accurate predictions about future events. Daniel knows his uncle runs cons, but the prophecies prove correct every time. Trinity predicts natural disasters and sports outcomes with perfect accuracy. His gambling predictions anger the mob, who mark him for death. The Vatican wants Daniel to expose Trinity as a fraud. Trinity himself cannot explain his new abilities. Assassins hunt both men as they flee through the Bible Belt toward New Orleans. Trinity plans to deliver one final prophecy there. This last prediction threatens to expose secrets so dangerous that powerful enemies will kill to silence him. Daniel must choose between his duty to the Church and protecting his uncle from forces neither man fully understands.
