The Wisdom of Blood

by A. G. Howard

First published 2022

Mordecai Dureance loses his place in Victorian society but finds contentment with his new wife Lynora and brother Isaac in their modest cottage. When an ancient vampire sect offers him wealth and acceptance in their underground city Nocturnus, he abandons his human life for immortality. Unable to forget Lynora, Mordecai breaks vampire law and brings her into his dark world through his bite. Lynora awakens transformed in a castle, rescued by the Sisterhood, women who survive as partial vampires without killing. They teach her to fight and plan to help her reclaim her humanity, but only if she kills Mordecai first. When a blood plague threatens the orphaned Isaac, Lynora and Mordecai must overcome their broken trust. Their opposing worlds collide as they race to identify the true evil behind the disease before it destroys the boy they both love.
