Part of Doc Ford, book 28
First published 2025
Doc Ford's closest friend Tomlinson claims he died when his sailboat struck a reef off Honduras during a hurricane. Tomlinson survived only because a twelve-year-old orphan brought him back to life. This boy descends directly from the last Mayan king, making him a target for corrupt politicians who fear he will spark an Indigenous uprising. The charismatic child has vanished into Honduras's underground with Tomlinson and a group of street children. Ford follows their trail into one of Mesoamerica's most violent countries. He faces flesh traffickers, paramilitary assassins, a sex-addicted archaeologist, and a murderous giant called Iron Baby. Ford refuses to let another death devastate the close community at Dinkin's Bay Marina on Sanibel Island. Then a massive earthquake strikes with the force of the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs sixty million years ago.
