Luis Carlos Montalvan continues his mission to help wounded veterans with his service dog Tuesday by his side. The Iraq War veteran and his canine partner travel across America, demonstrating how trained service animals can assist soldiers and others with mental and physical disabilities. They rescue a forgotten Tuskegee airman and battle VA bureaucrats who resist their efforts. Luis makes progress with his PTSD, but his physical injuries worsen to the point where he must use a wheelchair and consider leg amputation. Ten-year-old Tuesday remains devoted to Luis through these struggles. The author completed this memoir as his final tribute to Tuesday and to the veterans and dog lovers who supported their work. Montalvan died in December 2016, making this book his last message about the bond between humans and service animals.
