Under the Radar

Part of Sisterhood, book 13

First published 2009

The seven women of the Sisterhood return to their mountain compound after completing another successful mission. They celebrate with dinner and head to bed, but an alarm jolts them awake within the hour. Racing outside, they watch helplessly as Myra and their mentor Charles board a helicopter and disappear into the night. Only a cryptic note from Charles remains. Before the women can process this betrayal, retired justice Pearl Barnes contacts them with an emergency. Pearl operates a secret network helping abused women escape dangerous situations. She has rescued fourteen pregnant teenagers from a polygamous sect, but keeping them safe requires resources and skills beyond her reach. The Sisterhood must decide whether to pursue their missing leaders or protect these vulnerable girls. Without Charles guiding their operations and Myra's leadership, the remaining members face their most challenging decision yet. They must learn to operate independently while confronting a powerful religious group that will stop at nothing to reclaim the escaped teenagers.
