Part of Richard and Kahlan
First published 2015
Richard Rahl lies dead on his funeral bier while evil forces prepare to devour the D'Haran Empire. The world stands at the brink of total destruction. Only Kahlan Amnell, the last Confessor, remains to fight the darkness consuming everything she holds dear. Against all logic and hope, Kahlan feels an inner call to action that defies reason. She knows the odds are impossible, but she cannot abandon Richard or let their world fall to ruin. With nothing left to lose, she commits to one final, desperate plan that will either save everything or destroy what little remains. Kahlan's gamble will reshape the world in ways no one can predict. Her choice carries consequences that reach far beyond saving the man she loves. The fate of the D'Haran Empire, the future of magic itself, and the survival of all free peoples hang in the balance as she makes her stand against the forces of evil.
