Part of Well Met
First published 2019
Emily moves to Willow Creek, Maryland for the summer to help her sister heal from an accident. She gets pulled into volunteering at the local Renaissance Faire with her teenage niece. Simon, the schoolteacher who runs the volunteers, dismisses Emily's casual attitude and her quirky theories about Shakespeare. He has no patience for her ideas to change up the traditional acts. The faire means everything to Simon since his family founded it. But when they put on their Renaissance costumes, Simon transforms into a charming flirt who pursues Emily relentlessly. Emily wears a low cut wench outfit and finds herself drawn to this version of Simon. She wonders if his interest reflects his true feelings or just the role he plays. Emily planned to leave Willow Creek after the summer, but she starts imagining a real relationship with Simon and making the town her permanent home.
