Derek Strange has traded his police badge for a private investigator's license in 1972 Washington DC. When a young woman hires him to recover a ring she says holds sentimental value, Strange thinks he's landed an easy case. The trail leads him into territory patrolled by his former partner Frank "Hound Dog" Vaughn, now working a murder scene where a local addict was executed in his own apartment. Both men find themselves hunting the same target: Red Fury, a killer whose nickname comes from his appearance and his girlfriend's car, though it captures his violent nature perfectly. Red Fury operates without limits or long-term plans, willing to eliminate anyone who stands between him and his goals. As bodies pile up and danger mounts, Strange and Vaughn realize conventional methods won't bring down their quarry. They must bend the rules to stop a man who follows none. Set against the backdrop of early seventies DC, complete with period cars, music, and fashion, the case forces both investigators to confront how far they'll go for justice.
