Widow's Point

by Richard Chizmar

First published 2025

The residents of Harper's Cove know better than to go near the lighthouse. Built in 1838, Widow's Point claimed three lives during construction when a worker fell from the catwalk under mysterious circumstances. The deaths never stopped. Over the decades, twenty-two more people died on the property through murders, suicides, accidents, and disappearances. An entire family was slaughtered. A Hollywood actress died while filming there. The authorities sealed the lighthouse in 1988 and put up security fences. No one has entered since. But in 2017 and again in 2025, people arrive seeking supernatural evidence and fame. They break into the abandoned structure, cut off from outside help. The lighthouse stands empty, yet they discover they are not alone inside. Something waits in the darkness of Widow's Point, and it has been patient.
