Elizabeth Curtis Sittenfeld is an American writer who has published seven novels and two collections of short stories. Her debut novel Prep (2005) follows students at a Massachusetts prep school. She has since written The Man of My Dreams (2006), a coming-of-age novel exploring romantic love, and American Wife (2008), a fictional work loosely based on the life of First Lady Laura Bush. Sittenfeld's later novels demonstrate her range across different genres and themes. Sisterland (2013) tells the story of identical twins with psychic powers, while Eligible (2016) offers a modern-day retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Rodham (2020) is an alternate history political novel about the life of Hillary Clinton, and Romantic Comedy (2023) centers on a romance between a comedy writer and a pop star. In addition to her novels, Sittenfeld has published two collections of short stories: You Think it, I'll Say It (2018) and Show Don't Tell (2025).
