David Mark Weber is an American science fiction and fantasy author born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952. He is best known for the Honor Harrington science-fiction series, which has become his signature work. Weber's first novel was co-written with Steve White and sold in 1989 to Baen Books, the publisher that would become his primary outlet. Since that early collaboration, he has written numerous science-fiction and fantasy book series throughout his career. Baen Books remains Weber's major publisher and has been instrumental in bringing his work to readers since the beginning of his professional writing career.
