A Midsummer Night's Dream

First published 2022

Hermia loves Lysander, but her father demands she marry Demetrius. Helena pines for Demetrius, who ignores her completely. When Hermia and Lysander escape to the forest, Demetrius chases after them with Helena trailing behind. The forest belongs to the fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania, who are feuding over a servant boy. Oberon sends his mischievous sprite Puck to gather a magical flower that makes anyone fall in love with the first creature they see upon waking. Puck delights in using the potion on the sleeping mortals, creating chaos as the wrong people fall for each other. Meanwhile, a group of workmen rehearse a play nearby. Puck transforms one actor, Bottom, giving him a donkey's head, then enchants Titania to fall madly in love with him. The forest fills with confused lovers, magical mishaps, and comic misunderstandings as Puck's interventions turn everyone's affections upside down.
