Rosalind must escape Duke Frederick's court when he banishes her without warning. She disguises herself as a young man named Ganymede and flees to the Forest of Arden with her cousin Celia and the fool Touchstone. In the forest, exiled nobles have created their own community away from court politics. Rosalind discovers that Orlando, the young man she loves, has also sought refuge in the woods and has been carving love poems to her on trees. Still disguised as Ganymede, she offers to cure Orlando of his lovesickness by pretending to be Rosalind in mock courtship sessions. The forest becomes a place where shepherds debate love, fools offer wisdom, and characters discover their true selves through play and disguise. Rosalind must navigate her false identity while testing Orlando's devotion and her own feelings.
