Laurel and Zach McCullough face a difficult holiday season. They have moved in with Laurel's grandmother Helen, who can no longer care for herself properly. The couple has been trying to have a baby without success, and their dreams seem increasingly distant. When Laurel calls a home care agency for help with Helen, she learns no caregivers are available. Then Mrs. Miracle appears at their door. The mysterious woman transforms their household. Helen becomes more active and joyful, decorating the Christmas tree and arranging the nativity scene alongside her new companion. Helen believes Mrs. Miracle is an angel sent to help them. Meanwhile, Laurel and Zach begin noticing strange signs that suggest a baby may be coming into their lives. As Christmas draws near, Mrs. Miracle proves to be far more than an ordinary caregiver. The McCullough family discovers they possess blessings they never recognized before.
