Kit Davenport faces a nightmare: an arranged marriage arranged by his disapproving father and a lifetime trapped in the suffocating world of the House of Lords. Headstrong and reckless, Kit has always been wrong for ballroom etiquette and white wigs. When desperation drives him to make a wildly impulsive choice, he finds himself aboard the Deliverance under Captain Reggie Sharpe. The charismatic captain commands a crew of misfits who happen to be pirates. Kit trades his gentleman's life for rum-soaked friendship, explosive gunfights, and stolen kisses under starlight with the infuriating Sharpe. But the sea holds secrets alongside its treasures. When Kit's aristocratic past threatens to drag him back to shore, he must choose between the man his father demands he become and the person he discovers among the pirates.
