A Scandal in Bohemia

First published 2016

This illustrated collection transforms the classic Sherlock Holmes short stories from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes into a visual feast using Lego brand minifigures and bricks. Custom designed Lego models recreate the composition of Sidney Paget's original black and white illustrations that accompanied these tales when they first appeared in The Strand Magazine between July 1891 and June 1892. Paget's drawings established the popular image of Holmes, including the famous deerstalker cap and Inverness cape that Conan Doyle never described in his writing. The book brings together the world's first unofficial consulting detective with the beloved building blocks, offering a playful new way to experience these stories that made Holmes one of literature's most cherished characters after his debut in A Study in Scarlet in 1887.
