Lee Ofsted has made real sacrifices to compete in the Pacific-Western Woman's Pro-Am golf tournament. She barely qualified, and now something strange plagues her game. Her long drives keep veering sharply right, even when she strikes the ball cleanly. Then Lee makes a grisly discovery at the bottom of the course lake. The tour's biggest star lies dead in the water. Her golf problems suddenly seem trivial. Lieutenant Graham Sheldon arrives to investigate the murder. He's attractive, clever, and wants to catch the killer. He also wants to win Lee's affections.
