Bad Kitty

by Nick Bruel

First published 2005

Kitty faces a culinary nightmare when her favorite foods disappear from her bowl. Instead of tasty treats, she finds asparagus, beets, cauliflower, and dill staring back at her. Twenty-two other vegetables complete this unwelcome feast. Kitty responds with feline fury that follows the alphabet. She devours homework, attacks grandma, shreds curtains, and smashes dishes. Her rampage continues through each letter until she reaches Z. The chaos only ends when proper cat food returns to her bowl. Anchovies, buffalo burritos, and chicken cheesecake restore order to the household. Kitty finally makes peace with grandma and the family. This tale captures every cat owner's fear of what happens when pets don't get their way.
