Army Criminal Investigation Agents Scott Brodie and Maggie Taylor reunite in Berlin after five months apart. Their new assignment: investigate the murder of fellow CID agent Harry Vance, whose body was found in a city park within Berlin's Arab refugee community. German authorities believe Islamic terrorists killed Vance, but Brodie and Taylor suspect deeper motives. They cannot explain why Vance traveled to Berlin or what he did before his death. Their investigation plunges them into modern Germany's tensions: the refugee crisis, Cold War remnants, Stasi legacy, and rising neo-Nazi threats. German and American officials obstruct their work. Worse, US intelligence agents may target them, fearing Brodie and Taylor learned classified secrets during their previous Venezuela mission. The partners discover Vance's murder was only the beginning. A larger, more dangerous plot unfolds. Brodie and Taylor race to solve the mystery before the real catastrophe strikes.
