Rose needs housing for her climate-displaced Korean immigrant mother, so she accepts a dangerous assignment. She travels to Camp Zero, an American construction project in northern Canada, with orders to spy on the lead architect. The remote settlement harbors secrets that become clear only after Rose arrives. Grant, a college professor fleeing his wealthy family's corrupt past, reaches the camp at the same time. Together they discover the architect hides more than anyone suspected. A disturbing mystery runs through the entire operation. Meanwhile, an elite group of women soldiers operates from a nearby Cold War research station. Their purpose remains unclear, as does the identity of their leader. Rose and Grant realize they have walked into something far more complex than either anticipated. The camp's true nature threatens everyone who learns too much about it.
