First published 2010

A criminal prowls the streets of Scrubbley, breaking into homes and stealing whatever catches his eye. When this thief sets his sights on Wayward Crescent, he discovers something far more valuable than ordinary household goods: the magical dragons that live there. His theft of one of these extraordinary creatures sets off a chain of events that threatens the entire community. Grabber, one of the dragons, faces a terrible choice as the robbery unfolds around him. Will he resist the criminal's influence, or will the thief's actions corrupt him into becoming a robber himself? The story explores how external pressures can test even the most innocent characters, forcing them to choose between right and wrong when their world suddenly turns dangerous.
