Jedi Academy: A New Class

by Jarrett Krosoczka

First published 2016

Victor Starspeeder arrives at Jedi Academy bursting with excitement. His sister Christina feels mortified that her energetic younger brother will attend the same school and embarrass her. Victor's boundless enthusiasm constantly gets him into trouble. He spends frequent afternoons in detention with Yoda, the small green master who sees potential beneath Victor's chaotic behavior. Yoda decides to harness the young Padawan's abilities by forcing him into drama club. Victor hates this assignment and resists learning theatrical skills like box steps and jazz hands. He must navigate making friends at his new school while avoiding further clashes with Christina. Victor also needs to master using the Force and his own emotions before the year culminates in drama club's big performance. The production might be "Wookie Side Story" or "Annie Get Your Lightsaber." Victor faces the challenge of proving himself as both a capable Jedi student and a reliable performer without disappointing Yoda or ruining the show.
