Part of Origami Yoda, book 1
First published 2010
Tommy sits at lunch with Dwight, the weirdest kid in sixth grade. Dwight wears identical shirts for weeks and insists people call him Captain Dwight. Most students avoid him. Then Dwight folds an origami Yoda finger puppet that starts dispensing advice. The paper Yoda predicts future events and solves student problems with uncanny accuracy. Soon classmates form lines to consult the tiny green oracle. Tommy cannot understand how brilliant guidance comes from someone so socially clueless. He launches an investigation to solve this puzzle. Does the origami tap into mystical forces, or does Dwight possess hidden intelligence? Tommy must crack the case quickly because he needs advice about approaching a girl he likes. The answer will determine whether he trusts Yoda's romantic counsel.
