Lore Alemeyu has the scars to prove that escaping her village is impossible. The forest prison surrounding her home has beaten her before, and the Fae who rule this land show no mercy. But when her village comes under threat, Lore strikes a bargain with a Fae lord: she will venture into the outside world and attempt to open an enchanted library that no Fae can enter, one sealed shut for a thousand years, and catalog whatever lies inside. She tells him she wants wealth. That is a lie. What Lore actually wants is magic, the one thing the Fae guard more jealously than anything else. To reach the library, she has to depend on two Fae males, and both of them are dangerous in ways she did not anticipate. The closer she gets to the library's secrets, the harder it becomes to keep her own. Lore came here to take something for herself. She did not plan on having anything to lose.
