Quest for the Faradawn

by Richard Ford

First published 1982

Nab grows up under the care of Brock the badger after his human parents leave him behind. When the time comes, he sets out to find the Faradawn, three powerful grains that hold magical properties. His journey takes him across different realms where he must face the Elflords who protect these treasures. The Elflords rule over the Mountains, Forests, and Seas, each guarding one of the precious grains Nab seeks. The young man travels from his familiar woodland home into unknown territories, confronting challenges that test both his courage and his connection to the natural world that raised him. His quest becomes more than a simple search for magical objects as he discovers what it means to bridge the gap between his human heritage and the animal kingdom that shaped him.
