Meg Langslow returns to Yorktown, Virginia for the annual Revolutionary War celebration commemorating the 1781 British surrender. She plans to sell her wrought iron art at the colonial craft fair while secretly delivering pink flamingo sculptures she made for her mother's friend. Her boyfriend Michael will portray a French officer in the battle reenactment. Meanwhile, Meg tries to stop her father from frightening tourists with his 18th century doctor act and prevent a nosy reporter from exposing local scandals. She also wants to protect her brother Rob from a con artist targeting his computer game invention. When the swindler turns up dead in Meg's booth, killed with one of her own iron creations, murder investigation joins her growing list of responsibilities.
