Six Wakes

First published 2017

Maria Arena opens her eyes inside a cloning vat streaked with dried blood. She remembers nothing about her death, which troubles her. Every previous time she died and awakened as a fresh clone, the memory of dying came with her. Something has gone wrong aboard the starship Dormire. Maria discovers she occupies the first of six cloning vats, each designed to hold a crew member's clone until their previous body dies. The other five crew members have also died recently and awakened without their death memories. Someone murdered the entire crew, but the killer's identity remains hidden among the six newly awakened clones. The crew must solve their own murders while trapped together on their isolated vessel. They face a deadly puzzle: one of them committed the crime, and that person may strike again. Maria and her crewmates race against time to uncover the truth before the murderer eliminates them once more.
