The narrator knows his story sounds familiar. A girl meets a womanizer, they fall in love, he changes his ways. But he insists his tale with Dee is far more colorful than the typical version. From their first meeting, he recognized something special in her. She saw nothing special in him at all. Dee had been disappointed by men before, and she immediately categorized him as just another guy who would let her down. He had to work to prove her wrong, though he admits he can be very persuasive when sex is involved. The ending might be predictable, but the narrator argues that the real value lies not in where the story goes, but in everything that happens along the way to get there.
