The Gate of the Feral Gods

by Matt Dinniman

Part of Dungeon Crawler Carl, book 4

First published 2021

Carl receives a new quest that seems straightforward. Four castles wait in a bubble dimension. He has fifteen days to capture each one and unlock the stairwell to the next level. The targets include a floating fortress filled with warrior gnomes, a castle built from sand, an abandoned submarine protected by broken machines, and a crypt loaded with deadly traps. Carl earns a mocking achievement when he fails the quest in under five minutes. His team cannot handle this challenge alone. They need help from the weak crawlers stuck in the bubble with them, players so incompetent that their survival defies logic. Trust becomes the real problem. Can Carl rely on these failures when everything depends on working together? The fifth floor of the dungeon tests more than combat skills.
