The Hidden

Part of Krewe of Hunters, book 17

First published 2015

Historian Scarlet Barlow takes a job at a small museum in Estes Park, Colorado, trying to rebuild her life after divorcing FBI agent Diego McCullough. The museum sits inside the same building where Nathan Kendall and his wife were brutally murdered shortly after the Civil War, leaving behind a young son. The crime was never solved. Scarlet begins photographing people around town for her work, but discovers something terrifying. The people in her pictures turn up dead, killed in the same manner as the Kendalls from 150 years ago. Police start viewing Scarlet with suspicion. Then the museum's historic statues begin speaking to her, including one of Nathan Kendall himself. Scarlet realizes she needs help and calls Diego, despite their painful history. Diego has just been recruited to join the Krewe of Hunters, an FBI unit that handles unusual cases. He travels to Estes Park to solve the bizarre murders that threaten Scarlet's life and to reconnect with the woman he never stopped loving.
