Shane Scully pulls the trigger on his former partner, a member of the mayor's security detail. The shooting puts the LAPD detective squarely in the crosshairs of Internal Affairs, the department's dreaded investigators known as "tin collectors." The department keeps Scully close with a temporary reassignment while the investigation unfolds. But Scully discovers he's walking into something far more dangerous than a routine shooting inquiry.
