Karl Glogauer, a psychologically damaged man from the 20th century, journeys back through time to ancient Palestine in search of Jesus Christ. He arrives expecting to find a divine figure, a superhuman savior who will solve the mysteries that torment him. Instead, Glogauer discovers something far more unsettling. The Jesus he encounters challenges every assumption about heroism, divinity, and truth. In this ancient world, Glogauer must confront not only the reality of Christ but his own weaknesses and obsessions. As he becomes entangled in the events leading to the crucifixion, he faces an impossible choice between comfortable lies and devastating truth. The weak can no longer become heroes or saints, but they can still die for what they believe, even when belief itself becomes questionable.
