Rose Mortiz has always been the one who holds things together. But when her father comes home with no memory, the Mortiz family stops making sense. On the night of her Deathday party, Rose finds out his amnesia was never real. She runs to confront him, and before she can get answers, the two of them are pulled through a portal into Adas, a fairy realm hidden somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Rose lands in a world she does not know, carrying powers she has not learned to use, surrounded by strangers she is supposed to trust. To get back home, she has to save Adas first. While she works toward that, she starts learning what her father actually did before he came back to them, and what he gave up to protect her sisters. The question underneath everything is whether the family she is fighting to return to can be put back together at all, and whether Rose is the one who can do it.
