Ari Abrams forecasts the weather for Seattle television viewers, but she cannot predict the storm brewing at her own station. Her mentor Torrance Hale stays too wrapped up in drama with her ex-husband, the news director, to guide Ari's career. Only sports reporter Russell Barringer seems to grasp Ari's frustration. After a holiday party goes wrong, Ari and Russell hatch a plan to reunite their feuding bosses through secret gifts and arranged double dates. Their matchmaking efforts take an unexpected turn when Ari finds herself drawn to Russell instead. Working together forces Ari to reveal the darker sides of her personality that she usually keeps hidden behind her sunny public persona. Russell must decide whether he can accept all of Ari's moods, both bright and stormy. This romantic comedy explores what happens when two well-meaning colleagues discover that the best chemistry might be between themselves rather than the people they're trying to help.
