Callie explores the riverbank with Granddaddy and finds a spotted leaf that turns out to hold butterfly eggs. When the eggs hatch, one butterfly emerges with a damaged wing. Callie must figure out how to help the injured creature take flight. Meanwhile, her mother's prized sheep Snow White goes into labor just as Dr. Pritzker gets called away to treat a colicky horse. With no veterinarian available, Callie steps up to deliver the lamb herself. She successfully brings the newborn into the world and earns recognition from her mother for her capable work. Through both challenges, Callie proves her growing skills as a young animal healer in this second installment of her veterinary adventures.
