Teaflet and her brother Roog live in a higgledy-piggledy house in Trefldom. They plan to host their annual strawberry jam party for friends. This year they want it to be ten times better than their best party ever. But trouble arrives when they learn the inspector of neatness will examine their messy home from top to bottom. If she discovers even one pinch of dirt or one unmade bed, she will cancel the party. Teaflet takes responsibility for cleaning while Roog handles the baking. Animals in need keep interrupting her work, including a toad whose tongue drags along the ground. Teaflet faces a choice between helping creatures who need her or finishing her cleaning duties. The party hangs in the balance as time runs out.
