Part of Meg Langslow, book 32
First published 2022
Meg Langslow thought hosting a dozen Canadian software programmers over Christmas would be her biggest challenge this holiday season. The employees are stuck in Caerphilly, Virginia, working on a rush project with her brother's company while their inconsiderate boss forces them to spend the holidays away from home. The Canadians specialize in forensic genealogy and DNA analysis, which at least makes for interesting dinner conversation. But when someone murders their boss, Meg finds herself sorting through a lengthy list of suspects. The victim's own employees had plenty of reasons to want him dead even before this forced Christmas exile. Meanwhile, angry clients are lining up to sue the company for botched DNA analysis and privacy violations. Among the plaintiffs is at least one known killer. Meg must solve the case quickly if she wants to salvage Christmas for her houseguests and keep everyone safe.
