Dragon Actually

Part of Dragon Kin

First published 2008

Annwyl the Bloody has earned her warrior nickname by decapitating her brother's soldiers without breaking stride. Men either flee in terror or offer stiff military salutes. Neither response gives her much chance for real conversation. The one exception is Fearghus the Destroyer, a massive dragon who actually listens when she speaks. Around him, Annwyl feels genuinely safe. That comfort vanishes when Fearghus arranges for an arrogant knight to train her for upcoming battles. The man's muscled frame and cocky attitude spark fierce desire that leaves her distracted during combat practice. Her days become a whirlwind of clashing swords and racing pulses while training with this infuriating man. Her evenings offer the calmer company of a magical beast capable of incinerating entire villages with one breath. Annwyl thinks she has figured out this strange new rhythm of her life. She has not begun to understand how complicated things will become.
